The latest evolution of BallSystem training is underway, a travelling programme that directly involves body shops within the company’s network, which will host course participants at their own facilities. Travelling throughout Italy, the Academy On The Road provides an opportunity for BallSystem trainers, body shops and local partners to meet and exchange ideas, with the aim of enriching knowledge, fostering synergies and promoting dialogue between body shops from different regions of Italy, thus enhancing the experience of belonging to a network of excellence such as BallSystem.

Carlo Mottola, the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Academy Director, shared his perspective:

“I thought that this travelling approach might give even greater visibility to the body shops that are joining or are already part of the Green Partner programme. Allowing these facilities to host staff, and above all the owners of the body shops, from different parts of Italy creates opportunities to increase interaction between operators in the same sector who are not competitors, thereby fostering a virtuous circle of excellence within the body shop industry.

This idea came to me precisely because, in my daily work and conversations with our partner body shops, I perceived this need and immediately proposed the project to my colleagues, who were enthusiastic about it.

I believe this will be a very welcome enhancement to our programme, not only for our partners but also for our customers, who will be able to rely on a cohesive network of excellence made up of dedicated professionals.”

Andrea Giovanardi, the company’s Network Manager, also commented on the programme:

“When Carlo proposed this project to us at the meeting, I immediately thought it was a great idea! Giving space to body shops, making them feel like an integral part of the BallSystem Team, the network and therefore our Human Machine, will allow us to enrich the wealth of experience of business owners operating in one of the largest and most important sectors of the national economy.

The main goal is to make them feel that they play a central role in this project, and I am confident that body shops will be delighted to be first-hand protagonists of our Academy on the road.”

The first stop? We’ll be in beautiful Sicily, hosted by the Giordano Car body shop in Palermo, from 21 to 25 March, together with our BS trainer Flavio Iavarone, Operations and Academy Director Carlo Mottola, and BS Network Manager Andrea Giovanardi.

The BallSystem team

The second issue of BS Magazine, our company periodical dedicated to the automotive world and the auto repair market, is now online on our platforms.ienda con uno sguardo rivolto al mondo dell’automotive e al mercato della riparazione.

The second issue opens with an editorial by Fabio Marcucci outlining BallSystem’s strategy for 2022 and explaining how, “step by step”, together with its excellent partners, it is advancing its principles and successful projects.

Carlo Mottola continues to promote the “Human Machine” concept, highlighting the importance of the team and training, which are central pillars of the company’s universe.

The special guest in this issue is Dr. Marco Mosaici, Aftermarket Director at Arval, who explores topics including Arval’s new strategies, the mobile workshop, digitalisation and the strong partnership with BallSystem as an added value for customers.

We also hear from our network through Rosolino Chifari, owner of the body shop of the same name, interviewed as a testimonial for BallSystem’s Green Partner training, and Andrea Giovanardi, Head of the BallSystem Network, who explains the structure of our affiliate network.

We take a closer look at digitalisation with Vittorio Polidori, IT Manager, who explains the importance of digital and centralised management, and we hear from Dr. Paolo Saluto, Scientific Manager of Standard & Testing Srl (a spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Turin) on the important topic of certification.

We also touch upon topics such as the training of experts in authority procedures, the OneTreePlanted project, and the world of sports, with the Padel Arena.

BallSystem’s commitment to the research and development of sustainable tools and processes has always been one of the fundamental pillars of its corporate philosophy. “For years, one of our symbols has been the tree made up of the levers we use in cold repair, a method that requires engineered tools and the technical expertise of BallSystem operators,” explains Carlo Mottola, BallSystem’s Chief Operating Officer. “It is a zero-emission system in which excellence and respect for the environment go hand in hand. However, we believe that commitment to protecting the planet is a responsibility that companies often fail to take seriously. It is up to us to take the lead: that is why BallSystem has entered into a partnership with ONE TREE PLANTED.”

The company has embraced the reforestation projects of ONE TREE PLANTED, an international charity founded in 2014 with the mission of planting trees around the world for the many positive effects they have on the environment, including absorbing CO2, emitting oxygen, combating soil erosion, promoting biodiversity and much more. For each partner in its extensive network, BallSystem plants a tree that represents the birth and consolidation of a partnership in which sustainability is a core value respected by the entire BS Network.

A year full of new developments, events, challenges, training, events (online and offline), sharing, recognition, small and big victories, and struggles made even more complex by the public health crisis, which is still ongoing.

BallSystem leaves all this, and much more, behind in this long 2021, a year that proved fundamental in laying the foundations for the 2021-2024 corporate strategy, which will further strengthen the company’s digitalisation, internationalisation and commitment to sustainability in the years ahead.

The year 2021 also brought the expansion of the network (with a current total of nearly 200 BallSystem affiliates across Italy), synergy with major players in the automotive sector, the arrival of key executives for an even stronger and more forward-looking management team, the launch of a new company publication (BS Magazine) and website, and the laying of the foundation stone for the future BallSystem headquarters in Perugia, as well as a new portal and digital mechanisms to improve the internal and external processes.

“Current events present us with new and increasingly complex challenges and, as I wrote to my colleagues quoting a well-known expression, change does not always mean improvement, but we must change in order to improve. By this I meant to say that we must all step outside of our comfort zones, our routines, our consolidated beliefs and our established processes. We must change the lens through which we see the world, and gain a new perspective of our work, the environment and the business itself, areas that present challenges we can no longer overcome alone or tackle individually. What will never change is the importance of having a vision, but today more than ever we need to be able to rely on a great team that thinks collectively rather than individually. I wish everyone a happy new year, with the dual hope that we will soon overcome the public health crisis and succeed in making a difference in our own lives and in the lives of others.”

These were the words of BallSystem President and Founder Francesco Mottola, followed by the thoughts and best wishes of BallSystem Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer Carlo Mottola:

“For the new year, my hope is that BallSystem will never lose its identity, constantly renewing itself while remaining faithful to its origins as a company built on familiar relationships, which, within the context of our work, translate into craftsmanship, transparency and excellence. May it have the same resilience it demonstrated throughout 2021, when BallSystem stood firm amid changes and new developments, and an automotive market in turmoil, facing difficulties caused by the public health crisis. Overcoming years of such complexity is what makes you proud to be part of a great family like ours, and our deepest thanks go out to our technicians, all our office staff, the body shops in our network, without whom nothing would be possible, and of course our partners. I wish everyone a 2022 full of great joys and compelling challenges to be tackled once again together!

For Christmas 2021, BallSystem adhered to the reforestation projects of the ONE TREE PLANTED association, an international charity founded in 2014 with the mission of planting trees around the world (www.onetreeplanted.org) for the countless positive effects they have on the environment, including absorbing CO2, emitting oxygen, combating soil erosion, promoting biodiversity and much more.

Instead of the usual Christmas gifts for suppliers, customers, partners and employees, a symbolic tree was planted for each of them through the initiative entitled “SOTTO L’ALBERO, UN NUOVO ALBERO” (Under the Tree, a New Tree), inspired by BallSystem’s much-loved Tree of Levers, which has b

BallSystem has valued craftsmanship and human know-how since the time of its founding. Continuous innovation in methods and processes has always been accompanied by close attention to environmental protection, through a concrete strategy aimed at reducing emissions harmful to the environment. Compared to traditional systems, the BallSystem method is completely zero-emission, and minimises its environmental impact not only thanks to the absence of fillers and paints in bodywork repairs, but also through a series of interventions throughout the entire restoration process, which make it the greenest method currently available on the market.

Il presidente Francesco Mottola e tutta la grande famiglia Ballsystem, oppure “The Human Machine” che dir si voglia, augurano un felice e sereno Natale all’insegna della serenità, della condivisione e della sostenibilità.

“BallSystem is a leading company in the car repair sector thanks to its revolutionary approach and the method developed in-house, which allows work to be carried out on cars damaged by hail or showing signs of minor to major dents and damage without the need for repainting (the Paintless Dent Repair method). The factory warranty remains unaffected, and the repair costs are reduced thanks to highly skilled workmanship. BallSystem has built a network of excellence throughout Italy, offering a completely new vision of the repair sector, focused on craftsmanship, expertise, training and, last but not least, sustainability, thanks to its zero-emission method.”

Today marked the second (2021) edition of the Car Carrozzeria Summit, held live online on Car Carrozzeria’s social media channels. BallSystem also took part in this edition as a Silver Sponsor, consistently supporting industry initiatives and events that provide opportunities for dialogue and discussion among players in the automotive repair and supply chain sectors.

The event primarily focused on body shops, which had the opportunity to interact live with the speakers in a dynamic exchange of ideas on a wide range of topics, with a strong focus on the future of the automotive and body repair sectors.

The event made an important contribution to shaping trends and perspectives for the sector, addressing highly topical issues such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, machine learning, synthetic DNA, ADAS and electric propulsion.

At 10 a.m., Fabio Marcucci (Sales Manager for BallSystem SpA), together with Marco Mosaici (Director of Aftermarket Networks for Arval Italia) and Salvio Bruognolo (Owner of Auto Bruognolo), explored the topic of the AIRepair approach, highlighting the advantages offered by the BallSystem “Paintless Dent Repair” method (cold repair without the need for repainting).

Fabio Marcucci spoke more broadly about the cold repair method and process integration: “The cold technique is no longer considered an alternative, but rather a method that can be effectively and profitably integrated with other processes, generating value for the customer. Having a thorough understanding of all the available techniques and how they can be combined also significantly improves relationships between the various players in the sector, enhancing performance and making the final outcome of the entire repair process more transparent.”

Marcucci then reiterated the shared objectives and vision with Arval: “In the Arval project, we see values that strengthen synergy among all players in the supply chain, with a forward-looking vision for the development of the market, which we share completely.”

With regard to training, one of the pillars of the BallSystem approach, he noted: “We have been active in training for many years, and our goal has always been to create an integrated system with mutual benefits for us and for those who join our project. We have never entrenched ourselves in fixed positions; on the contrary, we have always felt the need to share our know-how with a network that we have built over time. Our GreenPartner network, the highest level of affiliation, represents body shops that act as outposts of our methodology, thanks to the training provided by our Academy. Training for the purpose of sharing, and sharing to create and develop value for all the parties involved, including the end customer.”

One final word on sustainability: “Every player in the sector is moving towards sustainability in order to limit their environmental impact. BallSystem’s approach naturally maximises the benefits of repair, while seeking to deliver tangible advantages for the environment.”
