Every year, as the heat arrives, we start thinking about the sea, holidays and relaxation, but the summer season often brings more surprises and unexpected events than any other. We have witnessed this in recent days of extremes, when sudden temperature changes and scorching heat caused devastating weather phenomena across Europe: damage from summer hailstorms is virtually impossible to prevent, but is easy to resolve if you choose the right team.
Ballsystem was the first company in Italy to perfect and innovate the cold repair technique, launching its revolutionary method in 1997: a bodywork restoration system using a set of levers, punches and pullers developed and patented by the company. The Ballsystem method involves removing hail dents and traffic damage with precise interventions from inside the body panels, without the use of fillers or repainting.
“This type of repair, which is completely manual, allows considerable savings in time and costs, reduces vehicle downtime, and restores the car to its original condition without affecting the manufacturer’s warranty,” explains Antonello Fiorenza, General Manager of Ballsystem SpA. – “It is therefore a fundamental advantage both for body shops using the Ballsystem method and for the end customer, and becomes even more effective in managing damage for large fleets and car parks.”
In fact, the Ballsystem method is the solution chosen by Italy’s and Europe’s largest fleet and car park operators, manufacturers, car rental companies and insurance companies for restoring hail- and accident-damaged vehicles.
“Choosing Ballsystem means relying on a fast and flexible “human and logistical machine”, honed over decades, made up of talented craftsmen trained to work to the highest standards on a large scale, and capable of managing volumes that would overwhelm any competitor,” continues Fiorenza. “The Hail Team, made up of specialised crews, moves quickly across Italy and Europe to repair damage in record time using mobile workshops set up in car parks, all coordinated by a logistics and IT infrastructure that monitors and tracks work progress in real time.”
We asked Antonello Fiorenza what aspects of Ballsystem’s operations make the difference for private individuals. “Before ‘coaching’ was even a known term in Italy, Ballsystem already had a technical training academy, which in 2019 received accreditation as a regional training facility. This institutional recognition fills us with pride and ensures that the Ballsystem training certificate issued to our bodywork technicians is legally valid across Europe. At a time when our sector is focused on expanding networks, Ballsystem has established a well-structured a network of 440 GreenPartners, trained and updated at the Academy every six months. For private individuals, this means they can trust that their car is in the hands of the best cold repair experts available.”
However, we cannot discuss these weather phenomena without considering global warming and environmental responsibility. How does Ballsystem operate in this regard, in a sector that is often not very attentive to the environment, such as car repair?
“Sustainability has always been a core value in the development of our method: we designed it to have zero environmental impact, while many others opted for quick fixes harmful to the ecosystem. We are proud to have created a zero-emission repair process, providing an environmental sustainability assessment with every car we repair. We believe that doing business means acting with transparency, intellectual honesty and an innovation-focused vision, generating value for our employees, partners, customers and the community.”
